Most airlines have a rule that your baggage must be 50 lb or less. If you go over the weight limit, you will have to pay fines to carry the extra weight. So before you go, make sure you put your backpack or suitcase on your bathroom scale to see how much it weighs. This will save you a lot of money over time. Also consider the fact that you may be bringing back souvenirs on the way home. You can actually buy a portable baggage scale that you can bring with you. That way when you are ready to go home you can see how heavy your bag is before you get on the plane.
