39. Create a New Savings Account

First and foremost, you need a place to store all of your savings, and it shouldn’t go under the mattress. Every time you make a decision that “saves” you money, take the dollars you saved and immediately move it into your savings account. Otherwise, it doesn’t count as truly “saving” money with your new lifestyle. With online banking, it should just take a few click for you to move money from checking to savings.

For example, imagine that you were about to buy a new pair of shoes, and you stopped yourself from spending $100 frivolously. That’s wonderful! Good job.
